Using CircleIt


A. How do I change my ‘Cover’/’Profile’ photo?

You can easily change your cover photo or profile picture.

  1. Go to the ‘Menu’
  2. Select ‘Profile’
  3. Click ‘Edit’ in the top right corner
  4. Select the image you want to change and pick the photo you want to use
B. Can I change my name on my ‘Profile’ after I create it?

If you want to change your name due to marriage, divorce, or legal name change:

  1. Click on the ‘Menu’ icon on the bottom right of your home screen
  2. Select ‘Settings’ then ‘Personal Info’
  3. From here, you can update your name
C. Can I edit my relationship with someone?

You can redefine your relationship with someone by:

  1. Going to your ‘Contacts’
  2. Swiping Right on the individual
  3. Then selecting ‘Redefine Relationship’
  4. Use the scroller to ‘Define Your Relation’


A. How do I ‘Chat’ with someone?

You can chat with your loved ones privately and securely in a couple of ways.

  1. You can select the ‘Chat’ icon from the Homebar and choose who you want to chat with.
  2. Alternatively, you can navigate to ‘Menu’, select ‘Contacts’, and then hit the ‘Chat’ icon to start a conversation.
B. How do I create a ‘Group Chat’?

If you want to start a group chat on CircleIt:

  1. Select the ‘Chat’ icon on the Homebar
  2. Then select ‘New Chat’
  3. At the top, you can create a group chat
C. How do I delete old ‘Chats’?

To delete an old chat message:

  1. Select the conversation you wish to edit
  2. Hold your finger on the chat message and select to delete it for everyone in the chat or just yourself
D. How do I attach a photo or video to a ‘Chat’?
  1. In the ‘Chat’ window, select the ‘Paperclip’ icon
  2. Select a photo or video you want to attach to a chat message
  3. You can select media from your camera roll or take a new photo or video


A. How do I create a ‘Card’?

CircleIt makes creating cards for your loved ones easy.

  1. Select the ‘Create Card’ icon from the navigation bar
  2. OR select the ‘Envelope’ icon from the ‘Contacts’ page
  3. From there, you’ll be taken to the card creator, where you can select a card for any occasion, holiday, or even ‘Just Because’
  4. Pick from one of the hundreds of card options
  5. Add your personal message
  6. Attach media such as videos, photos, and voice recordings using the ‘Attach Photos & Videos’ icon or tap the ‘Paperclip’ icon
  7. Add a gift from our gift store using the ‘Gift’ icon on the bottom right
  8. Then click ‘Select The Delivery Date’ to schedule your card’s arrival time and date
B. How do I attach a photo or video to my ‘Card’?

To attach any media to your card:

  1. Select the card you want to send
  2. Enter your personalized message and then tap ‘Continue’
  3. On the bottom of your screen, you will see a ‘Paperclip’ icon
  4. Tap the ‘Paperclip’ icon and pick an image or video from your library, take a new photo, video, or record a voice message
C. Can I create a custom ‘Card’?

CircleIt gives you many ways to customize your card. You can attach videos, photos, and even voice recordings to make any card even more special. We are committed to making CircleIt a product you love, and we are hard at work in developing new features in our card creator, including giving you the ability to design your own card for any occasion or milestone, so stay tuned!

D. How do I see the cards I have already sent?

To see cards you have already sent on CircleIt:

  1. Go to the ‘Home’ screen
  2. At the top, you will see three options: ‘Today’, ‘My Cards’, and ‘Outgoing’
  3. Select ‘Outgoing’ to see any cards you have sent as well as the status of that card
E. How do I receive my cards?

When a loved one sends you a card on CircleIt, you will get a push notification.

  1. Open the app from the notification to view your card
  2. If you dismiss the notification and wish to view the card later, you can do so easily from your home screen
  3. Select ‘My Cards’ from the top navigation menu to see all the cards you have received, as well as unopened cards
F. How do I know when my ‘Card’ has been read?

When your recipient reads your card, CircleIt will send you a notification. If you miss the notification, but want to check if your card has been read:

  1. Navigate to the ‘Outgoing’ menu and if the card has been read, you will see an open envelope on the right hand side of your screen
G. How do I send a ‘Card’ to a future date?

The most unique feature CircleIt offers is the ability to send cards to any future date, no matter how far in advance. To send your card into the future:

  1. Select ‘Create a Card’ on the Homebar
  2. Pick your card, add your personal message, media, and a gift
  3. Tap ‘Continue’ then tap ‘Select Delivery Date’ to schedule the date and time
H. How do I delete or edit a ‘Card’ if it has not unlocked yet?

Cards sent to the future via CircleIt do not unlock for the recipient until your chosen date. Up until the card is sent, you can edit your card.

  1. Navigate to the ‘Outgoing’ menu
  2. If a card has not yet been read, it will appear in a shadow with a ‘Pencil’ icon on it
  3. Tap the ‘Pencil’ icon to edit your card’s details and delivery date.
I. How do I delete old cards I have received?

You can’t delete any cards that you have received. We are currently working on this function for an upcoming release.

J. Can I forward a photo or video I received in a ‘Card’ to someone else?

CircleIt is constantly evolving as a technology. We understand that sending media to other family members is a feature many wish to see added, and we are hard at work building this feature, as well as others, into our technology.

K. How do I send a photo or video without creating a ‘Card’?

If you want to send a photo or video to a loved one on CircleIt, but don’t want to create a card, you can do this via our private and secure ‘Chat’ feature.

  1. Open a ‘Chat’ with the person you wish to send media to
  2. Tap the ‘Paperclip’ icon and select the media you wish to send
L. How do I send a ‘Card’ to my child if they don’t have an email or phone number yet?

CircleIt was built for you and your family, regardless of age. Our military grade security and encryption means you and your loved ones are safe on CircleIt. Our Child Account feature is very popular with parents for this reason. Parents can create an account for their child, add only those they wish to have access to it, and then send cards and gifts that the child will receive when they are the age a parent deems appropriate. You can select the age you want your child’s account to become a live account on CircleIt.

M. How do I set up a recurring ‘Card’ to be delivered every year on the same date?

As part of our ongoing efforts to provide our members with new features, the automatic scheduling of cards to be delivered annually is currently in development.


A. How do I attach a ‘Gift’ to a card?

You can attach a gift directly from the card review screen. Tap the gift icon on the bottom right to visit the gift store. Select the gift or gifts of your choosing, enter your payment details and select your delivery date.

B. Can I send a ‘Gift’ without sending a card?

You can’t send a gift without sending a card. We are currently working on this function for an upcoming release.

C. Will my card and ‘Gift’ arrive at the same time?

You can select individualized delivery dates for your card and your gift – you can even select the delivery time of your card. At this time, you can not select a delivery time for your gift, just a delivery date. So while we can not ensure that they get delivered at the exact time, they can get delivered on the same day.

D. Can I cancel a ‘Gift’ if it is still scheduled to arrive?

Yes, you are able cancel a gift delivery up to 7 calendar days prior to the scheduled date of delivery

E. What if the person I send the ‘Gift’ to moves before it arrives?

The address that is used at the time of ordering is what will be used for your gift delivery. If you need to change the delivery address on your order, you can send an email to [email protected]. Any address update requests must be made up to 14 calendar days prior to the scheduled date of delivery.

F. What if the recipient is traveling?

If the recipient is not at home to receive the delivery, we will make attempts to call the recipient to schedule an appropriate delivery time.

G. What if the ‘Gift’ recipient deletes their CircleIt account before it arrives?

If the gift recipient deletes their CircleIt account before it arrives, they will still receive their gift delivery as you intended.


A. How do I set up the ‘Family Tree’ feature?

Once you register for CircleIt, your family tree is automatically created by our smart technology. The more family and friends you connect with on CircleIt, the wider your branches will spread and more your future generations will learn.

B. Why do I need to define my relationships?

When you connect with loved ones on CircleIt, we ask that you define how you are related to each other. So whether you’re their aunt or they’re your grandson – our patented, smart technology will not only properly place them on your family tree, but we’ll also help encourage communication across generations and suggest cards and gifts for special holidays and occasions.

C. What happens when a family member dies?

When a family member dies, their profile will remain on CircleIt for future generations to reference and learn from. We are currently working on enhancing this feature to include a memorialized profile that will allow family members to share memories and media even after you’ve passed.

D. If I define someone as a friend, are they included in my ‘Family Tree’?

Yes they sure are! Currently, you are able to filter your family tree to customize who’s included in your view. You can view only your family, only your friends – or view everyone on your family map.

E. What is the ‘My Story’ feature?

Our My Story feature is a tool that was built to enable your unique story to be captured for future generations. We’ll ask you one question per day, inviting you to share details and stories about your childhood, days at school, falling in love, your career and more!

F. Do I need to answer all of the questions to build ‘My Story’?

You can answer as many as you’d like, but the more questions you answer – the more of your story will be preserved for future generations. Your My Story section of your profile will be public for your family to learn about you, even after you’re gone.

G. Can I answer more than one question a day?

You can answer as many (or as few) questions per day as you’d like, but the more questions you answer – the more of your story will be preserved for future generations.
